Flight Cases, Designed and Built in the UK
VMEP designs and manufactures flight cases in the UK for motorsport, transport, pit and paddock use, from a £275 storage box to a £13,965 multi-case pit kit, all ex VAT. There are 249 cases in the standard range across 33 categories, and anything not in the range is built bespoke to your dimensions from the same materials.
Every case is designed and built at Unit 20 Bidavon Industrial Estate, Bidford-on-Avon, Warwickshire, from hexaboard birch plywood with extrusion and angle edging, twin butterfly lock latches, recessed pull-out handles and braked castors. Panel finish is a priced option: black or blue hexaboard, blue or red smooth, or Ultra Lightweight where transport weight matters. Stocked cases ship in 1 to 2 working days; bespoke builds run 3 to 14 days from signed-off specification. Browse the full range below, or request a bespoke quote and we reply within 1 working day.
What is a flight case?
A flight case is a transport-rated container built from panel and frame rather than moulded in one piece. The point of it is survival in transit: it takes being lifted, strapped into a vehicle, wheeled over rough paddock ground and stacked, and it keeps its contents in position while that happens. That is a different job from a toolbox or a plastic crate, which are storage products designed to sit still. Full comparison in our flight case vs toolbox guide.
How much do UK flight cases cost?
Across our published range, starting prices run from £95 to £12,430 ex VAT, and the median case starts at £1,050. Half the range starts between £646 and £1,752. Broadly, ex VAT: simple storage boxes £275 to £4,115; Stanley FatMax and Euro container cases £495 to £3,060; tool storage cases £825 to £7,620; data station cases £550 to £8,915; hospitality units £580 to £11,990; pit perches £6,600 to £7,645. The full breakdown, and what moves a quote, is in our bespoke flight case cost guide.
What can go in a custom case?
The range covers engines and gearboxes, tool sets, Euro containers and Stanley FatMax boxes, corner weight scales and set-up equipment, air jacks, wheels and tyres, fuel jugs, 19in racking, data stations with screens, hospitality units with fridges and water boilers, driver kit, awnings, welding gear and film carts. If it needs to travel and it does not already have a case, we can build one.
Do you ship flight cases across the UK and internationally?
Yes. Delivery is charged by weight band and destination, covering UK, Europe and international destinations. Cases are heavy and bulky, so on a large unit delivery is a real line on the quote rather than a rounding error. Rates are on the shipping policy page.
How do I order a bespoke case?
Send what is going inside, its dimensions and weight, how it travels and the date you need it. Photographs with a tape measure in shot are more useful than a long email. We come back within 1 working day with a firm price and a lead time, and the lead-time clock starts at signed-off specification rather than at first enquiry. The custom case checklist covers everything needed for a first-time-right quote, and lead times has the full breakdown.
