Where are you based, and can I visit?

Orders and payment

How do I place an order?

Stocked items go through the checkout in the normal way. For bespoke flight cases, pit walling, or workshop service jobs (CNC routing, laser etching, milling, turning, 3D printing), use the quote form at Custom Quote or email alex@vmep-ltd.co.uk. We aim to come back within one working day.

What payment methods do you accept?

Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and Klarna on orders between £50 and £2,000. Checkout is in GBP. VAT and the order total are shown at checkout before you pay. Shopify Payments activation is pending, so some methods may go live shortly after launch. Full detail at Payment Options.

Can I get a VAT invoice?

Yes. VMEP Ltd is UK VAT registered, number GB 258 339 377. VAT and the order total are shown at checkout before you pay. If you need a VAT invoice raised against an order, email info@vmep-ltd.co.uk with your order number.

Do you offer trade pricing?

There is no published trade tier or fixed trade discount on the site. Trade accounts are available for prep shops, race teams and regular trade buyers, and terms are agreed case by case. Email accounts@vmep-ltd.co.uk to set one up.

Bespoke and custom work

How long does a bespoke flight case take to build?

3 to 14 days from signed-off specification. Larger multi-item paddock builds are quoted individually. Tell us the date you actually need it in your enquiry and we will confirm a firm lead time in writing before you commit.

What is the process for a bespoke build?

  1. Enquiry, with dimensions, what it has to carry, and your required date.
  2. Scoping, where we suggest a specification, materials and approximate price.
  3. Written quote with a firm price and a firm lead time.
  4. Deposit and cancellation terms, which are set out in that quote rather than by a blanket site policy.
  5. Build, with progress updates on longer projects.
  6. Delivery, by pallet courier for oversized items and tracked courier for smaller cases.

Can you brand a case with our team livery?

Yes, and it is worth being precise about how. Laser-etched branding is etched onto a plate which is then applied to the case. We do not etch directly into the aluminium or hexaboard panel. Powder-coated equipment can be finished in a colour of your choice rather than the standard black. Vinyl graphics can be applied before delivery on pit walling. Send us artwork or a brand guideline and we will tell you what is achievable on your build.

Is laser etching included in the price of a bespoke case?

Sometimes. On some builds etching is included, on others it is a separate line item. It depends on the job, so we do not publish a blanket price or a blanket inclusion. Your written quote states exactly what is included before production starts.

What can you laser etch, and how big?

We run an LS110 fibre marker. It takes work pieces up to 500 x 500 mm with a work area of 220 x 220 mm. Our published materials are steels and stainless steels. If you have another material in mind, send us the material and the part and we will confirm what is achievable before quoting. Details at Laser Etching Services.

Motorsport regulations

Are the parts you sell FIA or Motorsport UK approved?

It depends on the part, and the product page is the authority. Fuel Safe Core and Enduro cells in our range carry full FIA-FT3 approval. The Sportsman line is stated by the manufacturer to meet FIA-FT3 requirements. FEV fire extinguisher kits in our range are supplied as FIA and Motorsport UK approved. Check the individual product page for the exact certification on the item you are buying. We do not distribute harnesses or seats, so we make no claim about those.

I am running in a specific championship. Can you advise on the right parts?

We can help on fitment and specification. We cannot confirm regulatory compliance for a specific championship, because that is between you and your scrutineer. Check the current Motorsport UK Yearbook, the Blue Book, and your series technical regulations, or ask your championship coordinator, before you buy.

Which ARE dry sump kit do I need?

It depends on your engine, power target and series regulations. Email info@vmep-ltd.co.uk with the engine, the application and any regulatory constraints and we will specify the right kit. A phone call on 01789 453 967 is usually faster than back-and-forth email.

Can you source a part that is not on the website?

Often yes. Email info@vmep-ltd.co.uk with the part number or a description and we will come back with price, lead time and availability, or tell you plainly if we cannot get it.

Shipping, returns and warranty

How quickly do you dispatch?

Bespoke and made-to-order items are quoted with their own lead time before production starts. For stocked parts, current dispatch timescales are set out on the Shipping Policy page. If a date matters, tell us before you order and we will confirm it. You get a dispatch email with tracking once the order leaves the workshop.

What does shipping cost?

Shipping is weight-banded and calculated at checkout from the total weight of your order and the destination. There are three zones: United Kingdom, Europe, and international. Orders up to 1 kg ship free to the UK and to Europe. Full rate tables are at Shipping Policy. Heavy and oversized items exceed the top weight band, ship by pallet courier, and are quoted per order, so contact us with your postcode and the item before ordering.

Do you ship outside the UK?

Europe, the United States, Australia and Japan are priced automatically at checkout by weight. Any other destination is quoted per order, so email info@vmep-ltd.co.uk with the delivery address and what you need. On every shipment outside the UK the recipient is responsible for import duties, taxes and customs fees. These are not included in the prices or the shipping charges shown at checkout.

Can I cancel or return an order?

If you order online as a consumer you have a 14-day right to cancel from the day you receive the goods, and a further 14 days to return them. Goods should be unused and in their original condition where possible, and you cover return shipping unless the goods are defective or mis-described. Email info@vmep-ltd.co.uk with your order number before sending anything back. Refunds go to the original payment method within 14 days. The 14-day cancellation right does not apply to goods made to your specification or clearly personalised, which covers custom flight cases and bespoke pit equipment, under regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Full detail at Returns Policy.

What if something arrives faulty?

Your statutory remedies under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply, including a short-term right to reject within 30 days of delivery and rights to repair, replacement or refund. Email info@vmep-ltd.co.uk with your order number, the product, and a description of the issue. Photographs help.

What warranty do I get?

We do not publish a blanket warranty period, because it would not be true across the range. Everything we sell is covered by your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015: goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Distribution products carry the manufacturer warranty, with length, scope and claim process set by that manufacturer, and we will support your claim where it is reasonable to do so. For cases and pit equipment we build, workmanship terms are set out in your written quote before production begins. Full detail at Warranty Policy.
