TWO WAYS TO BUY
Aluminium and hexaboard cases made to your dimensions, with fitted foam, drawers on runners, shelving, cable routing and tie-down points as needed. One-offs and small batches both normal.
If a catalogue size already fits, the case exists and you can check out. Euro container cases, tool boxes, engine and gearbox cases, 19-inch racking, hospitality units and data stations.
VMEP / MADE IN BIDFORD
Bespoke flight cases, pit perches, pit walling, hospitality units, foam inserts and one-off motorsport components. If it has to be moved, protected, or set up quickly at a circuit, we have probably built something close to it.
Two examples for scale. The VME-Box47 engine transport case is 800 x 800 x 950mm internally. The VME-Box46 gearbox carry case is 504 x 504 x 404mm. Between those two sit most of what we make, and either end of that range is normal work rather than a special.
Because the case is made here. 3D CAD design, CNC routing, fibre laser marking, CNC milling and turning, 3D printing, frame fabrication, assembly and packing all happen at Unit 20, Bidavon Industrial Estate, Bidford-on-Avon. For those steps there is no subcontractor queue to join and no third party schedule to fit around.
That is the whole explanation. It is a consequence of where the machines are, not a claim about working harder than anyone else.
The genuine exception is anything we do not make ourselves. Bought-in hardware, screens, fridges, castors and finishing work such as embroidered covers depend on supplier availability. That is quoted separately and stated on your quote before you commit.
At signed-off specification, not at your first enquiry. This distinction matters more than any other on this page, and it is the most common reason a project feels longer than expected. The days between a first email and an agreed spec are scoping days, not build days, and how long they take depends mostly on how quickly the details come back to us.
Full detail is on the lead times page.
One email with as much of this as you have:
You can send STEP, IGES, DXF, DWG, STL or PDF. Photographs with a tape measure in shot and a rough sketch are genuinely useful and often enough on their own. Upload files here.
Send that and we can usually scope, price and give you a firm build window inside one working day.
Logo plates and control labelling are marked in-house on our fibre laser, so branding a case does not mean sending it out to a third party and waiting on someone else's schedule. Tell us what you want marked when you send the spec.
Tell us in your first email, not at quote stage. Race calendars do not move. If the date is achievable we confirm it in writing alongside the quote. If it is not, you are told straight away so you can make another plan while there is still time to make one. Bear in mind your real deadline is usually earlier than the event, because the case has to be in your hands in time to be loaded.
